The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
As one progresses in life we realize that we are perhaps running short of time and yet have so much to do. Last year whizzed past and saw us through numerous events and activities which made it all the more worthwhile.
We are very happy to share that our school has once again been conferred with the highly prestigious British Council International School Award(2018-2020). The award has been bestowed upon the school for effectively and efficiently implementing international ethos into its curriculum from classes Pre-Nursery-XII . The plethora of activities encompassed students with an international dimension. ISA provided a framework to school to develop an action plan and to implement international activities throughout the year, and encouraged school to collaborate with overseas schools to create a rich learning experience for students through the use of ICT, creative pedagogical practices and real context for learning. Through careful planning all International activities that we had chosen were linked with the existing curriculum, thus, providing greater enrichment in learning.
We also successfully conducted “Talentia” an Inter School/College with a plethora of cultural events to showcase the talents of students. The “Rally for Rivers” programme for students managed to create an awareness for our dying rivers.
Our Annual days are wonderful and informative as ever. Through a splendid show interwoven with dance, drama and music the students enthralled the audience with their fantastic performance displaying self-confidence and grace. As in the past years this year too our annual days was theme based. The tiny tots with their angelic face enthralled everyone. The primary classes added color to the various festivals celebrated around the world. The higher classes mesmerized everyone with their electrifying performance. The journey to discover one’s roots took us on a wonderful ride around ‘Thoothukudi’. We realize how truly blessed we are to live in a land so diverse!!
As we march into the New Year we realize that life presents itself in various shades and at the end of the day it is important to enjoy the journey as much as to reach the destination.
A very Happy and Prosperous New Year to one and all!!!!
As William Butler Yeats rightly says that “Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire”
Education should awaken the joy in learning. It should ignite the fire of broadening the horizon of knowledge and clarity of perception and prepare himself/herself to make a worthy contribution to the world they live at large.
In Alagar Public School we not only focus on intellectual, social, emotional, physical and aesthetic development of a child but also nurture healthy attitude and imbibe good values. We provide a condusive atmosphere and foster students to develop their talents and potential to explore what is predominant in them and bring the best out of it.
“Children should grow with an uncluttered intelligence that is not identified and untangled in religious doctrine or prejudice, will naturally lead to ultimate blossoming of the intelligence” - Sadhguru.

Education should not be a pressure but serve as a tool to become into a responsible human and also hold his/her integrity without the fear of consequence.
A good head and good heart are always a formidable combination.
But when you add to that a literate tongue or pen,
then you have something very special.” – Nelson Mandela
The world of tomorrow will be created by the citizens of today. Therefore, the responsibility to contribute something worthwhile to the society rests on these citizens. The driving force behind the setting up of Alagar Public School was our keen desire to enlighten young minds and nurture their hidden talent.
We started our journey in the year 2009 with an aim to provide enlightening, liberating and quality education to our learners. We are confident that with our commitment to quality education, which emphasizes holistic development and acquiring knowledge, we shall empower our students with the confidence to emerge as successful individuals.
I welcome parents and students to be a part of the Alagar Public School family to share common ideals and aspirations as we build through a challenging and enriching educational experience for our students.
