The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
As one progresses in life we realize that we are perhaps running short of time and yet have so much to do. Last year whizzed past and saw us through numerous events and activities which made it all the more worthwhile.
We are very happy to share that our school has once again been conferred with the highly prestigious British Council International School Award(2018-2020). The award has been bestowed upon the school for effectively and efficiently implementing international ethos into its curriculum from classes Pre-Nursery-XII . The plethora of activities encompassed students with an international dimension. ISA provided a framework to school to develop an action plan and to implement international activities throughout the year, and encouraged school to collaborate with overseas schools to create a rich learning experience for students through the use of ICT, creative pedagogical practices and real context for learning. Through careful planning all International activities that we had chosen were linked with the existing curriculum, thus, providing greater enrichment in learning.
We also successfully conducted “Talentia” an Inter School/College with a plethora of cultural events to showcase the talents of students. The “Rally for Rivers” programme for students managed to create an awareness for our dying rivers.
Our Annual days are wonderful and informative as ever. Through a splendid show interwoven with dance, drama and music the students enthralled the audience with their fantastic performance displaying self-confidence and grace. As in the past years this year too our annual days was theme based. The tiny tots with their angelic face enthralled everyone. The primary classes added color to the various festivals celebrated around the world. The higher classes mesmerized everyone with their electrifying performance. The journey to discover one’s roots took us on a wonderful ride around ‘Thoothukudi’. We realize how truly blessed we are to live in a land so diverse!!
As we march into the New Year we realize that life presents itself in various shades and at the end of the day it is important to enjoy the journey as much as to reach the destination.
A very Happy and Prosperous New Year to one and all!!!!
Alagar Public School Thoothukudi had a great opportunity to participate in International School Award competition conducted by British council 2016-17. ISA took us on a Global tour through the various projects and activities of international flavor.
In this age of Information Technology, an early exposure to basics of computer prepares every child for the future and also helps the child to overcome any inhibitions they could have towards computer usage. Our school has a well structured computer lab with latest models of computers and softwares where students are introduced to the fundamentals of computing from an early age. As they move to higher classes the students are introduced to MS Office, programming and eventually to web designing.
Honesty is the cornerstone of all success, without which confidence and ability to perform shall cease to exist. Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom. Honesty is the most single most important factor having a direct bearing on the final success of an individual, corporation, or product. We take pride in boasting our children are brought in a serene environment that inspires them to be honest and to be an open book. Yes Examinations without supervisions is another feather in our cap.
