Rally for rivers is breakthrough campaign launched by ISHA foundation to save the Life lines of our country. By 2030 we will have only 50% of the water we need for our survival. To save India from this danger, a Rally for Rivers will be conducted from September 3rd 2017 to October 2nd 2017. The rally will start from Kanyakumari on 3rd September and will reach Himalayas on 2nd October.

     To support this rally, Alagar Public School conducted a “Rally for Rivers” at Muthammal Colony, Thoothukudi. The School conducted a Special Assembly on “Rally for Rivers” at 9.00am on 24th August 2017. Students of Alagar Public School presented a skit, song and a mime on “How to Save Our Rivers?” Autobiography of Indian Rivers created awareness among children to save rivers for future generations.

     The Chairman of the School ,  Mr. Jayaraman , The Correspondent , Ms. Priyadharshini Kesavan, The Principal , Ms. Deepashree Sarma gave special talk on the importance of Rally for Rivers. All the students took pledge to save our Indian Rivers. They all ensured to give a missed call to 80009 80009. Students from class 6 to 12 along with their teachers went on a rally around Muthammal Colony by holding pluck cards and banners with slogans on “Rally for Rivers”.

     Elaborate arrangements were done by the Management, Principal, Staff and Students of Alagar Public School. The program came to an end at 12.20pm.
